On March 10-12, 2015 the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) has hosted the 6th National Contest in Science and Technology for High-School and College Students TechnoIntellect, a multifaceted event featuring diverse technical achievements of creative and talented Belarusian youth. The Forum is aimed at developing effective forms of research-oriented training and attracting young people to professional research.
The Event has been organized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, National Centre for Technical Creativity, and the Institute of Integrated Forms of Training and Monitoring of Education of the BNTU. Conscious of the role of talented youth in technological advancement, some of the leading Belarusian enterprises have also sponsored the Event. Among them are OJSC "Amkodor", "Beltelekom", OJSC "Glasswork Neman", "Triple" Ltd., etc.
The Contest has welcomed over 200 young gifted designers, researchers, inventors, and architects-to-be from all over the country. The Technical Exhibition held within the framework of the Contest has featured a great array of the participants’ technical developments ranging from models of ships and automobiles to energy-saving devices and equipment facilitating various human activities. The youngsters talented in visual arts have also had a marvelous opportunity to present their works at the Exhibition. Such events are extremely beneficial for young researchers, as they offer a great chance to be spotted by the representatives of the leading enterprises.
The participants have competed in various fields of technology, such as energy development and electrical engineering, robotics, automatics and intellectual systems, information systems and technologies, aerospace technologies, painting, drawing, etc. On March, 12 the Jury comprised by distinguished Belarusian scholars, inventors, and professors has awarded the winners TechnoIntellect Certificates and memorable gifts.
The Contest hasn’t limited itself to fierce competition for awards. Seeking to boost the young people’s skills and to fuel their interest in research career, the BNTU has organized master classes and lectures in numerous fields. Besides, the youngsters have made a field trip to OJSC "Amkodor" and visited well-equipped BNTU research and study laboratories. The participants have also got a chance to broaden their cultural horizons visiting the Stalin Line, an impressive memorial complex located near the ancient town of Zaslawye.
TechnoIntellect is a runway for youth innovative projects and programs within the integrated educational and scientific area of the country motivating talented young people to take up a research career and strive for astonishing breakthroughs.
