On February 28, 2015 the Mechanical Engineering Faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) has hosted the International Robot Racing CompetitionRoboRace. The Competition has been held in two categories: Pro and Lego.
In the Pro category 17 teams from Belarus and Ukraine have been involved. Initially, the participants had to pass a qualifying race to determine the position of the robot in the final race.
The races were held according to the rules similar to "Formula 1". The robots were lined up on a special track and had to drive 15 laps. In the first two races the finalists have been determined.
The winner in the Pro category in the final race, a total length of 25 laps (1 kilometer), has become the robot of SRS team (Brest) with the result of 4.2 minutes. The 2nd place has been awarded to the Fresh team (Brest), and the 3rd - to the142RT team (Odessa).
In the Lego category 7 teams of Minsk schools has participated. All robots in this category had been collected on the basis of LEGO building blocks, so they were allocated into a separate category.
The winner in the Lego category has become the team of STEP Computer Academy, robot of which had passed 3 laps for 2.37 minutes.
