By the presidium decision of the House of Representatives in the city of Minsk from 25.08.2017, the Protocol №42, assistant of the «Bridges and tunnels» department of transport communication faculty Khodyakov Vyacheslav Andreevich named as the best young specialist of the educational institutions of Minsk.

Also the graduate student from the «Bridges and Tunnels» department of transport communication faculty of BNTU Gladkaja Anna become a winner of the competition.

“Mini football tournament among freshmen of FTS” took place the 7 of October on the football court near the 15-16 dormitories. The teams was divided in 2 groups, then played between each other. Surely, each of the 8 teams had a huge desire to become a champions. There was a tough battle for getting a place to go to the semifinal game and then to the final one. In time when the competition was on the final point the teams start to show their character and ambition to take the first place.

The team “Youth” had become a champions.

“Gallos” team took the second place.

The third place got a team “Friendship”.

All the winners was awarded with medals, candies and also with some special presents from BNTU trade union students.

A working trip of the director of the Branch of the BNTU "Intersectoral Institute for Staff Training and Retraining on Management and Personnel Development"Ivanov  Viktor P.  to the town of Belostok, Kleosin (Republic of Poland)

During the visit from October 17 to October 19, 2017,  Ivanov Viktor P.as part of the Belarusian delegation visited the Belostok Technical University. During the talks, the sides discussed issues of mutual exchange for training, advanced training and internships for Belarusian and Polish construction industry specialists. A draft agreement on cooperation between the Belarusian National Technical University, the Bialystok Technical University and the Regional Chamber of Construction Engineers of the Podlaskie (Belostok) Province of the Republic of Poland has been prepared.

On November 1–3 2017 the Instrumentation Engineering faculty hosted the jubilee 10th International Scientific Conference "Instrumentation Engineering - 2017". A total number of participating organizations reached 75 including scientific and educational establishments, research and industrial facilities and corporations from 10 countries of the world, among which: Republic of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, China, Lithuania, UK, Israel, Venezuela, and Armenia. The conference marked a début of a new section named “Optoelectronic Systems, Laser Technique and Technology”. A total number of papers presented in five sections were 248. All the presented papers (both oral and poster, submitted in Russian and English) were published in Conference proceedings.

Welcome speeches were presented by Vice-rector for scientific work of the Belarusian National Technical University A.M. Malyarevich, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus V.V. Nazarenko, and First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus S.A. Chizhik. A plenary session also included scientific reports made by B.I. Belyaev, Head of the Aerospace Research Department of the Institute of Applied Physical Problems named after A.N. Sevchenko of BSU; V.L. Gurevich, Director of the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology;  V.Ya. Raspopov, Head of the Devices of Management department of Tula State University; and V.T. Minchenya, professor of the Design and Production of Instruments department of BNTU which were heard with great interest.

Traditionally, the conference activities included an International Alferov Foundation for the Support of Education and Science commission meeting which determined the two best reports made by young scientists. This year the Foundation winners were Olga Vladimirovna Boyprav, associate professor of the Information Protection department and junior researcher of “Materials and Elements of Electronic and Superconducting Technology” research lab of BSUIR; and Konstantin Vladimirovich Panteleyev, associate professor of the “Information Measuring Devices and Technology” department of BNTU.

In accordance with the invitation of Mr.Rafael Boronat, EAEC [European Automobile Engineers Cooperation] President a 3-member delegation of Academic Automotive Association (AAA) which was founded at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) has participated in the 15th European Automotive Congress.

The AAA delegation has been headed by Dr.Bakhanovich Alexandre, BNTU Vice-Rector.

STA (Spanish Society of Automotive Engineers) has hosted the 15th European Automotive Congress in Leganes (Madrid, Kingdom of Spain) in the period of October 3 – October 5, 2017.

The Congress was held at the Engineering School of the University Carlos III of Madrid, located in the town of Leganes, to the south of Madrid.

According to Webometrics data the University Carlos III of Madrid occupies the 19th position in Spain and 563rd position in the World Ranking.

Within the framework of the Congress Mr.Rafael Boronat, EAEC President, held a working meeting in order to discuss a number of urgent problems. The working meeting was also attended by FISITA representatives.

During this meeting the Belarusian delegation was given the opportunity to make a presentation in respect of its candidature for hosting the next 16th EAEC Congress in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).

All the attendees warmly accepted the AAA presentation and a proposal was made to take a final decision on this issue by January, 2018.

The AAA delegation also took part in the meeting of FISITA Educational Committee which thoroughly discussed participation of students in the forthcoming 37th FISITA Congress which is to be held in October, 2018 in Channai (Republic of India).

In the frame of the programmer for invitation of foreign specialists for participation in educational process in Belarus National Technical University, from 9 till 11 of November the visit of Professor Dagnija Blumberga was held. Professor Dagnija Blumberga is famous expert in the field of bioenergy, environmental science and environmental economy. She is senior researcher and Director of Institute of Energy Systems and Environment, Riga Technical University. Prof. D. Blumberga is also the Member of Council of Solar Energy Association of Latvia and expert of Bureau of Environmental Impact Assessment of Latvia. She is Habilitus Doctor of Engineering and PhD of Stockholm Royal Institute of Technology (Sweden) and Riga Technical University (Latvia). Prof. D. Blumberga took part in several European projects, including:

- Individual Heating with Integrated Fog Unit System (IFUS) – financed by European Regional Development Fund (2017-2020);

- Robust Internal Thermal Insulation of Historic Buildings-RIBUILD – financed by HORIZON 2020 (2015 - 2020);

- Flexibility for Variable Renewable Energy Integration in the Nordic Energy Systems Flex4RES – financed by Nordic Energy Research Programme (2016 - 2019);

- Energy efficient and low-carbon solutions for secure, sustainable energy supply and climate variability mitigation (LATENERGI) – financed by National Research Programme (2014 - 2017);

- Development of a training course and study program module „Socio-economic aspects of the climate technology for bioeconomy sector” – financed by European Economic Area Financial Mechanism (2015 - 2016);

In the frame of visit Prof. D. Blumberga was having the lessons for teachers, post-graduate and graduate students of BNTU. The special educational programmers were developed and delivered during three days.

The free lectures were visited by teachers and students of the faculties of mining engineering and engineering ecology, power engineering, power plant construction and engineering services.

At the first day the programmer included following topics:

- Bioeconomy and biotechonomy;

- Spectrum of Bioresources;

- Innovative Biotechnologies;

- Bioproducts and Ecodesign

The models of systematic multi-criterial analyzes for local renewable resources assessment for energy were presents by prof. Blumberga. These models are successfully using in real economy sector of EU countries. And prof. Blumberga also proposed BNTU students to develop and present in the next day their examples of multi-criterial analyses of resources.

In the next day the following topics were presented:

- Environmental and climate change problems;

- Economical and socioeconomic aspects of biotechonomy.

The student’s projects were estimated in accordance with its practical potential interest and economy efficiency. Prof. Blumberga analyzed all projects in details and the best projects were defined and recommended for future research work.

In the final day the following topics were presented:

- The practice of project preparation for European research programmers;

- How to write excellent research paper for scientific journals which are in Scopus and Web of Science Data base;

- Data base of Journals for publication;

- The criteria for research papers assessment and practice of paper reviewing.

Prof. Blumberga has an extensive experience of research work and preparation of publications. 285 of her scientific publications included into SCOPUS data base and Web of Science data base. H-index of prof. Blumberga = 12. 19 of her PhD students defended doctoral thesis and she also has 13 of PhD students now.

BNTU teachers and PhD students have got a practical experience of preparation of publications for Journals which included in Scopus and Web of Science Data base. Some research results of master students were analyzed and prepared for publications in accordance with Journals requirements.

Prof. Blumberga also presented some text-books and research proceeding for BNTU library and e-library. The textbooks will be using in educational process of BNTU. BNTU teachers also presented for colleagues from Riga Technical University some text-books which were developed and printed in our University.

During the prof. Blumberga visit BNTU teachers also presented the results of their research work. The perspective of future cooperation between BNTU and RTU also discussed. In particularly prof. Blumberga invited BNTU to be a partner of consortium for preparation of application for some research Programmer, like ERASMUS; Interreg; Horizon 2020.

The business trip country: People’s Republic of China.

The goal of the business trip: negotiations, development and coordination of the main regulations about cooperation between BNTU and The “Gaoun” company.

Foundations for the business trip: the order of the rector of BNTU from 13.10.2017 №1570.

During the business trip there was a negotiation with a staff of a “Gaoun” company about a participation in a supportive program for the lead examiners and examiners team in the innovative activities and entrepreneurship of a Xinsan city about “Recycling and regeneration of a asphalt concrete road cover”. This topic was found support and understanding of this important problem for the economy of China in the city hall of the Xinsan with a leadership participation.

There was a meeting that was held in the government of a Henan province that was based on the support of an urban governance where were examined the prospects of realization of the topic and opportunities for participation of experts in a development of scientific and technological cooperation with Chinese organizations. Also there was proposed about cooperation with Xinsan university which prepare specialists of technical profile.

20 October 2017 took place the meeting about directions of cooperation with rector and leaders of a structural units in the Xinsan university. To the BNTU delegation was shown the material base and educational process of the university. During the visitation there was achieved an agreement about Xinsan university visit BNTU to know more about our educational process and to prepare the cooperation agreement.

During the business trip there was a discussion about prospects of developing the “Gaoun” company. The participants of the business trip got known more about industrial and research base of the company.

In the “Gaoun” company conducted the seminar called “Road innovative technologies”. Each member of BNTU made a speech on the seminar. As a result of the visit was planned a program of joint research and future cooperation.

International scientific and technical conference among young scientist “New materials, equipment and technologies in industry” was held on October 26-27. This event was held on the basis of Mogilev State “Belarusian – Russian” university.

The Magistrate of the “Strength of materials and elasticity theory” department of the transport communication faculty Skachek Pavel Dmitrievich made a presentation “Static analysis of bendable triangular plate” in the work of the section “Innovation in constructing”.

Also there was presented a lot of different report on this subject. Participation in the conference has helped a great deal in communicating with new researchments in constructing and technique.

MIPKiPK BNTU is invited to the international summit in Oxford (Great Britain), where leaders of leading universities and educational centers, scientists, experts in the field of science and education from 55 countries of the world will meet, to present the honorary diploma of the Academic Union of Oxford for the successful use of innovative solutions in scientific practice and high professionalism.

Students and lecturers of “English language department №1” joined for a talk by Professor Boyd L. Bradbury (Minnesota State University Moorhead) who discussed educational, social and cultural aspects of studying in the USA.
He also spoke at length about study programmes available for international students.

Further collaboration with Minnesota State University will include holding online-conferences and seminars and conducting joint research.

Delegates from mechanical-technological and mechanical-engineering faculties of BNTU took part in the 2-nd International Conference, «Wisdom Gathering in Dezhou» -Talent Innovation and Entrepreneurship Week», which was held in Dezhou city, Shandong Province, China. One of the main goals of the conference was the establishment of business contacts for potential cooperation in the field of science and technology between BNTU and Chinese organizations.

The visits to the industrial enterprises of Dezhou city were organized during the conference. Yu.A. Nikolaichik - the head of the "Foundry department" of BNTU - visited foundry and forging shops of the company «Tongyu Heavy Industry, Ltd». This company is one of the leading manufacturers of the steam turbines for nuclear power plants in China.

Through the BNTU’s participation in the 2-nd International Conference «China Dezhou Conference on Exchange of Oversea High-End Talents» business contacts and constructive arrangements were established for potential beneficial cooperation in the field of science and technology.

The mining and environmental engineering faculty offers postgraduate courses in the following fields of specialisation: Mining machines and equipment, Ecology, Geotechnology.

Congratulations to Valery Zharskiy and his team on winning the competition of student films among technical institutions of higher education "Video Radius BNTU"!

The film won the first place, and was also awarded in the nominations "Best Installation", "Best Direction", "Best Feature Film". Students worked hard for glory, invested a lot of energy and their work was appreciated! Everyone was delighted with the film, which was remembered for its unique special effects, acting and director's idea.
And I would also like to congratulate one of the representatives of the Instrimantation Faculty Elena Goryanina!

Elena's film won in the categories "People's Choice Award", "Best Actress" and "Best Film through the Eyes of Participants"! During the viewing, the audience plunged into the atmosphere of the film, living this story with the heroes!   We are heartily glad and congratulate Valery and Elena on their victory!

The XII National Architecture Festival, dedicated to the 950th anniversary of the city of Minsk, was held on November 9-11. Within the program of the architectural forum there were competitions, exhibitions of national unions of architects from far and near abroad countries, master classes of leading architects, exhibitions of designers, sculptors, monumentalists and other interesting events.

Traditionally, for the eleventh time, the architectural faculty acted as an organizer and active participant of the Republican competition of graduate projects of graduates of higher and secondary special architectural schools of the Republic of Belarus. The professional international jury evaluated the 75 best projects of the 2017 release (of which 43 projects of graduates of the country's universities). The architectural faculty presented 21 diploma projects for the competition. Two projects were awarded diplomas of 1 degree, four graduates of the faculty were awarded with diplomas of 2 degree.

On November 29, in the International Exhibition Center "Chizhovka-Arena" were held the Forum and the 1st city conference on the problems of people with disabilities "Minsk - a city of equal opportunities", timed to coincide with the International Day of Disabled Persons.

In the work of one of the sections of the conference devoted to the issues of universal design, accessibility of the architectural environment and prospects for Minsk, took an active part and made presentations: N.A. Lazovskaya, candidate of architecture, associate professor of the department "Architecture of residential and public buildings", A.V. Mazanik, candidate of architecture, associate professor of the department "Design of the architectural environment" and the student of 6th year of education, D. Mazurkevich.

Summarizing the work of the conference, Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Social Protection of the Minsk City Executive Committee I.N. Dudka noted the high level of reports of representatives of the architectural faculty and expressed her hope for further cooperation.
