February, 13 is internationally recognized as the World Radio Day. This holiday was established by UNESCO to mark the first broadcast by UN Radio in 1946. Throughout these years, radio has become the most effective technological means to reach wide audience and spread important information, including in case of emergency.
Besides, radio continues to encompass novel technological devices and forms, such as broadband, mobiles and tablets as well as hybrid radio combining FM/DAB broadcasts with the Internet.
