On January 10, 2015, the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) has held the Open Day aimed at helping high-school graduates choose a career they are willing to pursue.
The Event has attracted many young people from all over the country. The BNTU has always been popular with the school leavers, as it is among the leaders in engineering education in Belarus. Besides, the BNTU is the basic organization of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) for training engineers. The graduates of Transport Communications Faculty, Architecture Faculty, and Automotive and Tractor Faculty are always welcome at the leading enterprises of the country and abroad. High salaries and considerable number of vacancies in nuclear energy sector have boosted the prestige of Power Engineering Faculty and Power Plant Construction and Engineering Services Faculty in recent years.
The BNTU employees have put a lot of effort to make the Open Day a vivid and memorable event. Each Faculty has prepared several stands featuring their academic offers and achievements, as well as novel developments and modern equipment used in training process. This hands-on approach fueling the potential students' interest towards the University is quite beneficial. Thus, youngsters have got a unique opportunity to explore modern military devices under the guidance of experienced army officers who teach at the BNTU Military and Technical Faculty. A small robot floating through the crowd has rapidly captivated the visitors' attention. The robot is one of numerous technical developments designed at the BNTU Information Technologies and Robotics Faculty famous for its applied research.
The high-school graduates have attended the meeting with the BNTU Administration where they could discuss some pertinent questions regarding admission, University life and the pros of entering the BNTU. Among them are steady demand for BNTU graduates in Belarus and abroad, job assignments to the leading Belarussian enterprises, career prospects, and decent salaries.
The visitors could also talk to the BNTU lecturers about some peculiarities concerning the specialities they plan to study. The BNTU employees have tried their best to give a comprehensive overview of training programs.
Within the framework of the Event the BNTU has organized consultations where the best lecturers have advised the high-school graduates on passing entrance exams successfully.
