9th International Plasma Technologies Application Conference ICPAT-9

On June 25-26, 2014 Russian Academy of Sciences has held the 9th International Plasma Technologies Application Conference ICPAT-9. The Conference is one of the most prestigious and prominent global events in the field. This year's event has united experts from 14 countries: Belarus, Belgium, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Germany, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Russia, South Africa, Switzerland, Turkey, the Ukraine, and the United States.

Among the organizers of ICPAT-9 are reputable organizations dealing with various aspects of plasma assisted technologies: International Plasma Technology Center (USA), Applied Plasma Technologies, LLC (USA), a number of research institutions of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and Russian universities.

Aimed at bridging the gap between science and production, the Conference has considered a number of scientific and engineering aspects of different plasma based technologies, including plasma generation, fuels ignition, plasma assisted combustion, hydrocarbons conversion and activation, etc.

The Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) has represented our country at the Conference. Assoc. Prof. Pilatov A.Yu. of the BNTU Department "Internal Combustion Engines" has delivered 2 reports  featuring joint Brazil-Belarus research results in the respective field. The reports have generated vivid interest among the renowned participants of the Conference.

Besides, Assoc. Prof. Pilatov has held fruitful talks on further research projects with the representatives of CDF Research Corporation (CDFRC, USA) and  Power & Energy (the UK).

ICPAT-9 has demonstrated a growing interest in research and development in the field of plasma assisted technologies. The attendees have delivered 51 presentations and participated in 12 roundtables with very productive open discussions.

Moreover, the participants have had a unique opportunity to enjoy exquisite interiors of the Academics' House located in the Vladimir Palace, the last imperial palace to be constructed in St. Petersburg.

The Conference Steering Committee has announced that the 10th conference will be held in February, 2016 in Cancun, Mexico.
