In accordance with the invitation of Mr.Rafael Boronat, EAEC [European Automobile Engineers Cooperation] President a 3-member delegation of Academic Automotive Association (AAA) which was founded at the Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU) has participated in the 15th European Automotive Congress.
The AAA delegation has been headed by Dr.Bakhanovich Alexandre, BNTU Vice-Rector.
STA (Spanish Society of Automotive Engineers) has hosted the 15th European Automotive Congress in Leganes (Madrid, Kingdom of Spain) in the period of October 3 – October 5, 2017.
The Congress was held at the Engineering School of the University Carlos III of Madrid, located in the town of Leganes, to the south of Madrid.
According to Webometrics data the University Carlos III of Madrid occupies the 19th position in Spain and 563rd position in the World Ranking.
Sponsors of the Congress were the following well-known international and Spanish companies: ANSYS (Diamond Sponsor Status) – global leader in engineering simulation, one of the world's most innovative companies; Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.– the fifth largest automaker worldwide, ISVA – the Institute for the Vehicle Safety Assurance (Gold Sponsor Status); gasNatural fenosa, (Silver Sponsor Status); SyC itv – Supervision Y Control S.A. Opening ceremony of the 15th European Automotive Congress was on October 03, 2017.
During the Plenary Session the following three reports were presented to the Congress participants:
- “Automated Driving: Evolution or Revolution?” (Speaker: Dr.Ing.Abel Carbonell, Head, Electronics ADAS & CAV);
- “Analysis and Development of Safety – Critical Embedded Systems and Software for Automotive Applications” (Speaker: Gunther Siegel, VP Engineering SBU, ANSYS;
- “Challenge for “Game Change” to realize “Sustainable Powertrain”” (Speaker: Masaaki KUBO, Alliance General Manager, Powertrain Engineering Division, Nissan Motor Co., Ltd.
After the Plenary Session the Congress continued its work in the following sections:
- Topic A – Powertrain and Green Technologies;
- Topic B – Vehicle Dynamics;
- Topic C – Noise, Vibration & Hardness;
- Topic D – Manufacturing Processes;
- Topic E: Vehicle Electronics
- Topic F – ITS
Within the framework of the Congress Mr.Rafael Boronat, EAEC President, held a working meeting in order to discuss a number of urgent problems. The working meeting was also attended by FISITA representatives.
During this meeting the Belarusian delegation was given the opportunity to make a presentation in respect of its candidature for hosting the next 16th EAEC Congress in Minsk (Republic of Belarus).
All the attendees warmly accepted the AAA presentation and a proposal was made to take a final decision on this issue by January, 2018.
The AAA delegation also took part in the meeting of FISITA Educational Committee which thoroughly discussed participation of students in the forthcoming 37th FISITA Congress which is to be held in October, 2018 in Channai (Republic of India).
