On November 1–3 2017 the Instrumentation Engineering faculty hosted the jubilee 10th International Scientific Conference "Instrumentation Engineering - 2017". A total number of participating organizations reached 75 including scientific and educational establishments, research and industrial facilities and corporations from 10 countries of the world, among which: Republic of Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Poland, China, Lithuania, UK, Israel, Venezuela, and Armenia. The conference marked a début of a new section named “Optoelectronic Systems, Laser Technique and Technology”. A total number of papers presented in five sections were 248. All the presented papers (both oral and poster, submitted in Russian and English) were published in Conference proceedings.
Welcome speeches were presented by Vice-rector for scientific work of the Belarusian National Technical University A.M. Malyarevich, Chairman of the State Committee for Standardization of the Republic of Belarus V.V. Nazarenko, and First Deputy Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus S.A. Chizhik. A plenary session also included scientific reports made by B.I. Belyaev, Head of the Aerospace Research Department of the Institute of Applied Physical Problems named after A.N. Sevchenko of BSU; V.L. Gurevich, Director of the Belarusian State Institute of Metrology; V.Ya. Raspopov, Head of the Devices of Management department of Tula State University; and V.T. Minchenya, professor of the Design and Production of Instruments department of BNTU which were heard with great interest.
Traditionally, the conference activities included an International Alferov Foundation for the Support of Education and Science commission meeting which determined the two best reports made by young scientists. This year the Foundation winners were Olga Vladimirovna Boyprav, associate professor of the Information Protection department and junior researcher of “Materials and Elements of Electronic and Superconducting Technology” research lab of BSUIR; and Konstantin Vladimirovich Panteleyev, associate professor of the “Information Measuring Devices and Technology” department of BNTU.
