On August 4-5, 2016 Minsk has hosted Belarus-China Forum "Commercialization of Scientific and Technical Developments of Belarusian Organizations".
The Forum has united the representatives of Belarusian government organizations and prominent research institutions, as well as the leading Chinese enterprises. The Belarusian party has comprised the representatives of:
- Ministry of Economy;
- Ministry of Industry;
- the National Academy of Sciences;
- State Committee for Science and Technology;
- Belarusian National Technical University;
- Belarusian State Technological University.
The Forum has aimed at
- Facilitating the commercialization of the research products in Belarus and China;
- Uniting the three major cooperation fields, namely production, research, and funding, to develop high-tech enterprises at China-Belarus Industrial Park "Great Stone".
The Belarusian National Technical University (BNTU), the national leader in engineering education, has actively participated in this high-profile Event.
On the closing day, the BNTU administration and the top managers of the "China-Belarus Industrial Park Development Company" have signed the Framework Agreement on cooperation in the field of research product commercialization.
The joint activities with the Great Stone Industrial Park offer the BNTU a number of good prospects, namely:
- Developing an effective and comprehensive support platform for research and technical activities, innovative entrepreneurship, and youth startup movement;
- Ability to use advanced research facilities and resource base for developing unique high-tech knowledge-intensive products;
- Setting up new high-tech innovative businesses;
- Creating new jobs for highly-qualified young professionals;
- Involving the leading foreign companies in the Belarusian economy;
- Developing a modern world-class business infrastructure.
The Forum has highlighted the participants' commitment to effective use of the existing potential for ensuring cooperation in the field of innovations, venture investments, and commercialization of research products.
